Lost In Paris
After visiting the Opera House, I really wanted to go la Centre Pompideau because a friend (Maria) had told me to go to the top and you get a good view of Paris. Unfortunately, there are lot of streets in Paris that don't happen to appear on the little Paris map I was carrying. The streets are so skinny and never go in a straight line. Thus, I wandered around lost for almost 2 hours and then realized I had to rush to Place de La Concorde to meet the coaches and students to got to Versailles. I stopped for a quick bite to eat at a little cafe outside the Louvre and had a nice chat with some Americans and then I booted it to the coaches.
JIF - Street signs in Paris point in the precise direction that attraction is located, not down any specific street. Thus, they often point into or through a building and you are left with no idea how to get there.
L'Arc de Triomphe
L'arc de Triomphe is huge mongous. It is absolute craziness! The above picture was taken from inside the coach while stopped at the intersection on Champ d'Elysses. The roundabout around l'arc de Triomphe is about 4-5 lanes wide but there are zero lines! Thus cars are swimming all about this way and that fighting for their lives! Nuts!!
JIF - No neon/electronic signs are allowed on the Champ d'Elysees. Thus, there is a really classy McDonalds here with a really proper sign and nice awnings. It was nice.
JIF - UK keyboards are whack. The @ sign isnt on the (2) it is on the (') Confusing to say the least.
JIF - Jogging pants are called TRACKEY BOTTEMS
